About our Nursery
The Nursery at Shenley Primary School is an enticing and vibrant learning environment which enables children to reach their full potential. We endeavour to create a warm and nurturing atmosphere which allows children to flourish and develop their independence. Our experienced and qualified staff are committed to the enhancement of children's learning and development.
The Nursery is part of our 'Foundation Stage Unit' (FSU) which gives children in Nursery and Reception a wider variety of learning opportunities by allowing them to spend their child initiated learning time in any of the Foundation Stage classrooms or the outside classroom. In our most recent OFSTED Inspection the Foundation Stage Unit was highly praised and judged to be 'Good'.
'A wide range of learning opportunities are planned, both indoors and outside, which are well supported by staff. This enables children to become confident and enthusiastic learners.' (OFSTED 27th June 2017)
'Children are well looked after. Staff give children’s welfare a high priority and make sure that the statutory safeguarding requirements are met. Relationships between parents and staff are positive. Parents feel welcome and included and they confirm that they receive useful information about how their children are getting on.'(OFSTED 27th June 2017)
We currently offer both morning and afternoon sessions as well as the option for children to stay all day. We accept applications from parents with both 15 and 30 hours funding, as well as offering the option to pay for additional sessions for children only attending 15 hours.
