We are proud to have invested £10,000 in Information Technology for the 2018-2019 academic year. At the heart of this investment was the purchase of 32 touchscreen Chromebooks (laptops) which also convert into tablets. As the Chromebooks are cloud based, the children are also able to access their work from home. This investment ensures that the children have access to the latest technology to enhance their learning. This builds on the schools existing IT equipment for pupils, which includes 21 Dell Chromebooks (laptops) and 32 IPads.
Children are encouraged to use computers across the curriculum, as well as during their 1-hour computing lesson each week. We fully cover the national curriculum for Computing and place a strong emphasis on e-safety (Internet safety). When undertaking computing lessons, our generous resources mean that children work individually on a computer, ensuring the opportunities for learning are fully maximised.
We are fortunate to have a high specification wireless network throughout the school with high speed Internet access. Our Internet access and computers are managed by Herts for Learning, ensuring all content is appropriately filtered.
Our classrooms are equipped with Clevertouch interactive touchscreen displays and visualisers. Whilst nursery classrooms have Smartboards, which are more suitable for younger children.
